If ballroom dances are considered a very successful symbiosis of sport and art, then "Pro-Am" is the embodiment of the brilliant idea of a combination of two partners with different motivation and training. The main thing is that both partners in the pair are gaining from such cooperation.

The twenty-first century began to be more attentive to human demands. The age that was once considered elderly, in the modern world, is called the "age of happiness". The desire of a person to enjoy life, to feel beautiful, desirable - and this, regardless of the number of celebrated anniversaries is regarded as right, natural. Tango, which was initially perceived in Europe with disapproval and considered indecent, began to be called a «sport dance which is included in programs of international competitions." And, finally, "Pro-Am" was invented and began its development journey.

Professional athlete (Professional – Pro-) can try himself as the personal trainer of his partner. The Amateur (Am-) gets the highest motivation for working with a partner, the dance level and abilities of which, are significantly higher than his own. A person who has never engaged in ballroom dancing or has half-forgotten childhood memories of his dance exercises, begins to train with a professional dancer and receives a unique opportunity to rapidly develop his abilities.

The effectiveness of this format of training became especially evident after the television show "Dancing with the Stars" was broadcast on television. The show experienced  incredible spectator love. It became obvious that the changes are very dynamic. The spectators could see, week by week, the rapid progress of the newcomers, who formed a couple with a professional coach-partner. The success of the contest participants was perceived by the audience as a personal victory. There was a desire to try as well; become a contestant, a dancer.

The movement can not be stopped. Life becomes wiser. The category "Pro-Am" was developed in the USA and began to move to the east. Twenty years later, Europe and the CIS countries are already dancing in this format. There is a rapid spread of this format of dance from the American continent through Europe, to us. Movement is gaining popularity. Rules are stipulated, tournaments are held, ratings appear, In the Russian Federation, in 2008, the "National Association of Sports Competition Dance" has already been registered, which is, in fact a federation of dancing organisations for "Pro-Am" dancers. In 2016, it was renamed the "International Association of Dance Clubs, Schools and Dance Studios". Ukraine is beginning to develop this direction of the international dance culture more and more actively.

There is an opinion that you can start ballroom dancing only in childhood. If you don’t, then in adulthood you either can’t find a partner, or if you find one, it will take many years to learn how to dance properly, not to mention being able to participate in contests. And if you are an adult, but have dreamed all your life and still dream of dancing in a pair and shining in tournaments, then the dream will remain a dream .... Luckily it’s not so!

More than 20 years ago in America, a category was born in ballroom dances, like Pro-Am, where a professional sportsman (Professional - Pro-) and amateur (Am-) - a student who never danced ballroom or did but in childhood. Pro-Am has developed rapidly in the US and Europe, because this direction really gives an opportunity for an adult to learn how to dance well, under guidance and in pair with a professional.

Pro-Am began to gain popularity after a series of dance shows. When you observe for several months, as a person who has not previously been engaged in ballroom dancing, is developing rapidly, and week after week begins dancing better and better, under the guidance and paired with a professional coach-partner, you want to learn, and you start to believe that you can do it all. And indeed it true! When you not only study, but also dance with a professional in a pair, your growth in dance occurs hundreds of times faster than when you start dancing with a newcomer like yourself.

Lessons in Pro-Am practically do not differ from lessons of professional dancers. For example, in the Latin American program, 5 dances are performed - chacha, samba, rumba, paso-doble and jive. Children, beginners of ballroom dance and Pro-Am students first learn the basics of the first three dances - chacha, samba, rumba. A the dancer progresses, pasodoble and jive are added.

In the first lessons, if you are a beginner; the coach will teach the basics - setting the body, working the back, hands and feet, rhythm and counting in the basic dances, the basic movements of each dance. Based on these skills, the coach give you your first "variations" (choreography) for each dance. You dance in a pair and to from your first lessons, and from your first lessons your dance will be unique.

What distinguishes the Pro-Am from classical ballroom dancing at the same beginner stage is that you do not lose time in times when your partner, started "with the wrong foot," forgot what to do next, made a mistake ... Every minute of the lesson you grow, because you are a professional couple.

If your desire is not only to dance "for yourself", but also to shine in tournaments, - Pro-Am offers you great opportunities. For example, after a couple of months of regular classes you will be able to enter your first tournament in the newcomer category. Sew or rent a beautiful dress, call friends and family, and dance under the light of soffits to the beautiful music, surrounded by the people who are equally in love with dance. Believe us, with a professional partner - your pair will look perfect. Pro-Am tournaments are held often, and each year their number is growing.

A you grow, from tournament to tournament you can choose categories; bronze, silver, gold, goldstar.

So, your success and dance growth depends only on your desire, persistence and work, just as in professional ballroom dances. A professional coach will always help you in realizing the dream of your ideal dance.
